Louise Adams
Louise is co-owner of Self Essentials, a Clinical Psychologist, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and a member of the Australia & New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. Louise has been in practice since 1998. Her therapeutic training and experience is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and she also uses evidence based mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Louise works with individuals, couples, and groups and deals with a wide range of issues.
Louise's passion is to help people learn how to 'treat themselves well', to increase self compassion and to become their own therapist. She has a special interest in problematic eating, body image and weight management, using the latest in the research of 'what works' to help people achieve maximum change. Louise aims to educate her clients and the world about the cruel trap of popular dieting approaches, which do little but set people up to fail. She uses an evidence based non-dieting approach to help empower people to change their lifestyles. Louise has expertise in the following areas:

Dr Julie Malone
Julie is co-owner of Self Essentials, a Clinical Psychologist and Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Her clinical training and practice is in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with the integration of mindfulness and acceptance based therapies (ACT). Julie enjoys helping individuals, and couples overcome a variety of difficulties and life events. Through a collaborative and empathic approach, Julie aims to equip people with an increased sense of empowerment, self compassion and an improved quality of health and well-being. Julie has been in practice with individuals and couples since 1999.
Julie is dedicated to redirecting the often wasted emotional energy that can be absorbed in the notion and strive for beauty, and on popular dieting approaches. She is experienced with body image concerns, emotional eating and a variety of adult psychological presentations. One of Julie's particular interests is working with people suffering from body dysmorphic disorder (fear of unattractiveness) and other forms of body image dissatisfaction. She likes to explore why people may seek cosmetic or dermatological procedures and thinks it's important to discuss the expectations of a procedure prior to undertaking it. Julie completed her Doctoral research on this topic.

Emma Webster
Emma is a clinical psychologist, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She has experience treating a broad range of issues, in public and private sectors. Emma has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Emma has also developed a strong interest in acceptance and mindfulness based therapies, in particular Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Emma is a facilitator of change. She is committed to assisting clients with self-exploration and practical skill development to empower them to create positive life changes. Emma has therapeutic interest in health psychology and adjustment to physical illness, including exploring the impact of illness or injury on self acceptance and body image. She has also completed research investigating psychological aspects of sport, exercise and eating disorders.

Erin Kelly
Erin is a Psychologist with training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and mindfulness techniques. Erin is committed to using evidence-based psychological techniques in combination with empowering individuals to utilise their own personal strengths and agency. She has experience treating a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, substance use issues, and problematic eating. Erin has a strong interest in non-dieting weight management and feels passionate about helping people make positive and sustainable changes to their lives.

Robert Brockman
Robert is a clinical psychologist with full membership of the Australian Psychological Society Clinical College. He is experienced in providing psychological treatment for a range of mental health issues. Robert draws from a number of evidence based approaches in his treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema therapy. Robert also provides coaching interventions for persons with workplace or performance problems, particularly where motivation or emotional issues playing a significant role in the maintenance of the performance problem.

Dr Barbara Rysenbry
Barbara is a clinical psychologist who has entered the psychological field later in life. She brings to her practice a breadth of life experiences including those gained in previous business and academic realms as well as the pleasures and challenges of parenting four children. Barbara’s specialist training and subsequent experience have provided her with skills in treating psychological problems arising from a wide range of difficult life circumstances.
Barbara's approach is warm and collaborative with the aim of helping clients use their innate strengths to make sense of their difficulties, improve their coping and self acceptance and find meaningful ways of moving forward in their lives. She uses evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Positive Psychology in her practice.
